Before hiring any power quality consultant, make sure to ask these important questions.

Why this matters: Class A is the highest accuracy classification for power quality instruments. Lower-class equipment (Class S or uncertified) may produce inaccurate readings that lead to incorrect diagnoses and wasted investment in wrong solutions. Class A certification ensures measurements are legally defensible and audit-ready.

Our answer: Yes. We exclusively use Dranetz HDPQ Plus family analyzers, which hold full Class A certification per IEC 61000-4-30.

Our answer: We measure for a minimum of one week to capture a representative sample of your facility's demand across all operating conditions. Longer periods may be recommended for facilities with variable production schedules.

Why this matters: Identifying a problem is only half the job. A quality consultant should design the specific solution — not just say "you need a filter." The recommendation should include equipment specifications, sizing calculations, and installation guidance.

Our answer: Yes. When non-compliance is detected, we design the optimal mitigation solution (capacitor banks, passive filters, or active filters) with full engineering specifications. Every solution design includes a frequency sweep analysis to prevent electrical resonance.

Why this matters: This is a critical step that many consultants skip. Installing a harmonic filter without a frequency sweep analysis can create electrical resonance — a condition that amplifies harmonics instead of reducing them, potentially causing catastrophic equipment damage.

Our answer: Yes. Frequency sweep analysis is included with every solution design at no additional charge. We never recommend a filter installation without this critical verification.
